Hayley Matthews and Shamilia Connell shared seven wickets as West Indies took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match Women's ODI series with a 37-run victory over Pakistan. Chasing 154, Pakistan folded for only 116.
Fatima Sana struck twice in the 12th over to reduce West Indies to 32/2. She had Rashada Williams (14) caught by Javeria Khan, and then got the better of Kyshona Knight for a three-ball duck. Deandra Dottin (34) looked composed, and kept finding the boundary. She forged a 33-run partnership with Stafanie Taylor before getting run out. Taylor added another 33 with Matthews for the fourth wicket.
But barring Kyshona, most top- and middle-order batters failed to convert their starts into substantial scores. Matthews holed out to Muneeba Ali off Sadia Iqbal for 26. In the end West Indies were bowled out for 153.
Pakistan started sluggishly. Muneeba took 46 balls for her 17 before falling to Shakera Selman. Matthews then pinned Sidra Ameen (11) leg-before. Javeria Khan (24) and Omaima Sohail (27) were the only batters to score more than 20.
Sohail's dismissal reduced them to 113/7. Connell and Matthews then wiped off the tail quickly to bowl out the hosts for 116. Matthews (4-26) was adjudged Player of the Match.
