The Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI) will host the national-level Sardar Patel National Divyang T20 Cup for the differently abled beginning on October 31 in Lucknow.
In the presence of the bank's executive directors, Imran Amin Siddiqui and Ashwani Kumar, the teaser for the event—which is sponsored by Indian Bank—as well as its mascot, tagline, and hashtag—was unveiled on Tuesday.
The eight-day event will take held at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow to honour Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary, which is also recognised as National Unity Day.
After 43 matches, 20 teams of Divyang Cricketers from around the nation, divided into four groups, would compete for the championship. On November 7, 2022, during the closing ceremony, which will take place in Lucknow, winners will be announced.
S.L. Jain expressed his thoughts on the competition by saying, "The Divyang Cricket confirms our dedication to supporting talent without discrimination and deepens our conviction that a person's disability need not be a barrier to success. We will see the tenacity, bravery, and fortitude of these players via cricket, which is already the most popular sport in India."
DCCI will keep advancing equality and sports through such projects as India continues to commemorate its 75th anniversary of independence. Blind, Deaf, Physically Disabled, and Wheelchair Cricket are the four different varieties of differently-abled cricket played in India under the umbrella of the DCCI (A BCCI-supported entity).
