After a humiliating defeat in the first match three days ago, Zimbabwe Women will look to keep the three-match series alive when they take on Bangladesh Women on 13 November, in the second ODI at the Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo.
The two sides met in the series opener at the same venue. Asked to bat, Zimbabwe skittled out for just 48 in 23.2 overs. It was a gloomy batting performance overall from Mary-Anne Musonda’s side, with only Precious Marange managing to reach double digits.
Jahanara Alam, Salma Khatun and Nahida Akter tore through Zimbabwe, taking three wickets each. Fargana Hoque and Rumana Ahmed then finished things off inside 11 overs.
There is still no news regarding Josephine Nkomo’s availability for the second match. Nkomo, Zimbabwe's most decorated all-rounder, got injured just before the opening game, and was forced to opt out. Zimbabwe will hope that Marange and Musonda will play a crucial role in levelling the series, and take it to the decider.
