Tammy Beaumont's 114-ball 102 set up a resounding 203-run win for England Women against New Zealand Women at Canterbury to complete a 4-1 ODI series triumph. Beaumont's knock, laced with 11 fours, laid the platform for England after Sophie Devine won the toss and asked them to bat. England’s 347/5 was their highest total against New Zealand in ODI cricket.
Amy Jones (60 in 46 balls) and Danni Wyatt (43* in 20) gave Beaumont the support she required. Nat Sciver (39) and Sophia Dunkley (33*) also played aggressively to steer England to mount a massive total. New Zealand fielders dropped eight catches in all, which later cost them heavily.
Unsurprisingly, no New Zealand bowlers went for less than six an over.
New Zealand were never really on the chase since its beginning. Lauren Down (27) and Maddy Green (22) got starts, but failed to convert them into anything substantial. Kate Cross (3-44) did the most damage to New Zealand top-order batters, as they were left reeling on 90/6.
Heather Knight (3-22) then cleaned up the New Zealand tailenders to finish things off with 14.4 overs to spare. They limped to 140.
With that, England have won all of their limited-overs series in this home summer.
