Lance Klusener has been appointed as the team director of Bangla Tigers, a franchise in the Abu Dhabi T10 League which is scheduled to start on November 19 this year.
The franchise made their maiden appearance in the league last season and finished third as well. Klusener has a rich experience of playing 220 international matches for South Africa in which he amassed 5482 runs and took 272 wickets as well.
He was appointed as the head coach of Afghanistan in September last year after serving as the batting coach of South Africa and Zimbabwe previously.
“Bangla Tigers is working on to make the team one of strongest in the tournament and for this reason Lance Klusener has been added to the team management,” Mohammad Yeasin Chowdhury, the chairman, said.
“I think his cricketing career along with his experience and knowledge will lead the team in the right direction.” he added
In the last edition, not only Bangladesh internationals like Anamul Haque, Abu Haider Rony, Farhad Reza, Junaid Siddique, Yasir Ali Chowdhury, Mahedi Hasan and Arafat Sunny played for the franchise but ten other foreign players including Thisara Perera, Shehan Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka), Lian Plunket, Tom Moores (England), Hasan Ali (Pakistan), Colin de Grandhomme (New Zealand), Andre Fletcher (West Indies), Rilee Rossouw, Robbie Frylinck (South Africa), and James Faulkner (Australia) featured for the Tigers as well.
