The promoters announced on Thursday that the sixth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 league will be held at the Zayed Cricket Stadium here from November 23 to December 4.
The fourth edition of cricket's quickest format will take place in Abu Dhabi in 2022, after a five-year agreement.
The league's total economic effect value in 2021 increased to $621.2 million, according to the organisers, who also claimed that last season's tournament attracted 342 million television and over-the-top (OTT) digital viewers.
HE Aref Al Awani, General Secretary, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said, "Through our partnership with the Abu Dhabi T10, we have further positioned Abu Dhabi as a major sporting global hub and consistently demonstrated the city's ability to both build and host one of cricket's most entertaining competitions."
"This is proof of the Abu Dhabi government's achievement of a key strategic goal: to produce and deliver athletic events that contribute to the emirate's global leadership in sports."
Deccan Gladiators, the incumbent champions, will defend their title against star-studded sides Delhi Bulls, Chennai Braves, Bangla Tigers, Northern Warriors, and Team Abu Dhabi in Season 6.
The Deccan Gladiators lineup that won the title in 2021 had captain Wahab Riaz and star player Andre Russell, with Liam Livingstone, Eoin Morgan, Faf du Plessis, and Moeen Ali highlighting a collection of world-class players.
When the 2022 Official Draft begins later this year, another spectacular cast of cricketers will be chosen to converge on Abu Dhabi, with UAE men's national team talents once again given the opportunity to test their skills against the finest in the world.
The competition will follow the same structure as last year, with each team playing 10 league matches before the top four teams proceed to the playoffs and final.
