After sweeping the ODIs 3-0, Afghanistan whitewashed Zimbabwe 3-0 in the T20Is as well, with a 35-run win at the Harare Sports Club. In a low-scoring contest on a pitch that produced ample turn, Opting to bat, Afghanistan crawled to 125/8, but they restricted Zimbabwe to 90/9.

The Zimbabwe openers added 25 in 19 balls. At the end of the Powerplay, they needed 86 in 84 balls with nine wickets in hand, but debutant left-arm wrist spinner Noor Ahmad ran through the middle order to finish with 4-0-10-4. With Rashid Khan also returning 4-0-8-1, Zimbabwe never got going, and were soon reduced to 69/9 before Ainsley Ndlovu and Tendai Chatara helped reduce their margin of defeat. No Zimbabwe batter scored more than 15.

Afghanistan had batted in similar manner, reaching 51/2 in the Powerplay overs, largely due to brisk hitting from debutant Ihsanullah (20 in 14 balls). Afsar Zazai got a run-a-ball 24, but the real impetus came from Mohammad Nabi, who batted until the 19th over for his 30-ball 31. For Zimbabwe, Sikandar Raza had 4-0-18-2, and Ryan Burl 4-0-22-2.
