Anya Shrubsole, England's leading wicket-taker in T20Is, announced her retirement from international cricket. She played eight Test matches, 106 ODIs, and 79 T20Is to finish with 19, 106, and 102 wickets respectively. However, she will continue to play domestic cricket and The Hundred, where she leads Southern Brave.
Shrubsole's most memorable performance came against India in the 2017 World Cup, where she claimed six wickets to guide England to the title on home soil. In 2018, Shrubsole became the first woman to feature on the cover of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack.
She reached the 100-wicket milestone in the recently concluded 2022 World Cup. She became the last batter to be dismissed in the tournament.
'I feel immensely privileged to have been able to represent my country for the past 14 years,' said Shrubsole. 'To have been involved in women's cricket at a time of such growth has been an honour but it has become clear to me that it is moving forward faster than I can keep up with, so it is time for me to step away.'
She featured for England on 173 occasions and was also a part of both Ashes and World Cup-winning squad twice.
'Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be lucky enough to play for England for so long, I'd have been happy with one game. There have been many ups and downs along the way but it was all worth it to be able to lift the ICC Women's World Cup at Lord's in 2017.'
