The schedule of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games – the eight-team Women's T20I cricket competition – has been announced. Australia, the reigning T20 World Champions, will face India in the opening match, on 29 July.
That will be followed by Pakistan taking on Barbados, the national team confirmed to take part from the West Indies. England will begin their journey on 30 July, against the qualifier side, to be decided by a tournament in early 2022.
The semi-finals will be on 6 August, and the gold medal match on the next day. There will be a bronze medal match as well, before the final on 7 August. All matches will take place at Edgbaston.
Australia, India, Pakistan and Barbados are pooled in Group A, while the qualifier side will join New Zealand, South Africa and England, in Group B.
This will be the first time women's T20Is will make an appearance in an edition of the Commonwealth Games. Kuala Lumpur 1998 featured Men's ODIs.
