Bangladesh recalled left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny and pacer Al Amin Hossain to their 15-member squad that will tour India for a three-match T20I series next month. 33-year old Sunny has not played for his national team ever since he was suspended during the ICC World T20 Cup in 2016 after being found to have an illegal bowling action. He was also arrested in January 2017 for posting intimate pictures of his girlfriend on social media and spent two hours in jail.
Hossain last played for the team in the 2016 T20 World Cup as well.
Chief selector of Bangladesh Minhajul Abedin said after the team was selected, “”We have recalled Sunny because we need someone experienced for India, which is a tough country. Al-Amin comes into the squad as some of our other fast bowlers are injured.”
Opener Tamim Iqbal also returned to the team after taking a break from cricket to address his woeful form during the recent tri-series featuring Afghanistan and Zimbabwe at home. Sabbir Rehman and Najmul Hossain, spinner Taijul Islam and seamer Rubel Hossain have not been picked.
The series starts on November 3 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, while Saurashtra and Nagpur will host the remaining two games on November 7 and 10 respectively.
