Bangladesh will host Afghanistan for the second ODI of the three-match series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, on 25 February. Bangladesh currently lead the series after winning the first game by four wickets.
A four-wicket opening burst from Fazalhal Farooqi gave Afghanistan an upper hand in the game, but they let the advantage slip with some ordinary bowling. The spin troika of Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Rashid Khan, and Mohammad Nabi was very economical without looking threatening.
Their top and middle orders struggled against the Bangladesh pace attack, as Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam shared seven wickets. Najibullah Zadran's 67 was the highest score of the innings. Afghanistan will expect more from Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Rahmat Shah.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, will not be pleased with the show put on by their experienced batters. Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah scored just 22 runs between them. Afif Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz combined an unbroken 174-run stand to guide the hosts to a four-wicket win. Afif can also chip in with the ball.
