Afghanistan avoided a 0-3 clean sweep against Bangladesh with a seven-wicket win in the third and final ODI, in Chattogram. An unbeaten 106 from Rahmanullah Gurbaz helped them chase 193 in 40.1 overs.
Tamim Iqbal once again failed, getting out on 11 to Fazalhaq Farooqi. Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das then added 61 for the second wicket before the former got bowled by Azmatullah Omarzai.
Rashid Khan then struck twice in two overs to reduce Bangladesh to 125/4. Mushfiqur Rahim edged to Gurbaz, while Yasir Ali holed out to Gulbadin Naib. Barring Liton Das (86) and Mahmudullah (29*), no one contributed much.
Chasing 193, Afghanistan got off to a great start, thanks to a 79-run opening stand between Gurbaz and Riaz Hasan. Shakib provided the breakthrough in the 16th over, getting Riaz stumped on 35. Rahmat Shah (47) then helped Gurbaz add 100. Gurbaz completed his third ODI century in just nine matches.
