After suffering a four-wicket defeat less than 24 hours ago, Bangladesh will look to keep the three-match series alive when they take on Pakistan on 20 November, in the second T20I at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka.
In the last encounter, Bangladesh had not gotten off to a best of starts after opting to bat. They lost their top three – Mohammad Naim, Saif Hassan and Najmul Hossain Shanto – inside five overs. Afif Hossain and Mahedi Hasan then chipped in with handy contributions to take their side to a respectable total.
For Pakistan, Hasan Ali impressed the most, returning 3-22. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Wasim Jr bowled accurately as well, going for less than six an over, and shared three wickets.
It was supposed to be an easy chase for Pakistan, but Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan both fell cheaply inside four overs. Haider Ali and Shoaib Malik fell without scoring, and they were left reeling on 24/4.
Fakhar Zaman and Khushdil Shah then steadied the ship before Shadab and Mohammad Nawaz took Pakistan across the finishing line in the final over. Mahedi and Mustafizur Rahman bowled well, but were not enough.
Pakistan are unlikely to flirt with their winning combination, while Bangladesh may bring in Shamim Hossain and Nasum Ahmed for Shanto and Aminul Islam.
