The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced an 18-member India squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England beginning from 23rd March.
Prasidh Krishna, Krunal Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav are the new entrants in India’s 50-over team. 21-year old Shubman Gill has made a return to the ODI circuit given his success in the red-ball format down under. India’s left arm-pacer, T Natarajan will also join the men in blue after passing the fitness test and recovering from a shoulder injury.

MI all-rounder, Krunal Pandya, who scored two unbeaten centuries and two half-centuries for Baroda in India’s List-A cricket tournament has also been called up for the One Day matches.
Suryakumar Yadav who scored a fifty in his first international innings for India during the 4th T20 against England has been added to the ODI squad given his recent success in the Vijay Hazare trophy as well. The Mumbai batsman scored 332 runs for Mumbai in five matches at an average of 66.40 before joining the Indian squad for the T20Is.
Meanwhile among the big names who did well in the recently concluded domestic season and didn’t receive the call-up were Prithvi Shaw and 20-year old Devdutt Padikkal.
In the absence of Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be India’s most experienced pacer in the series. Mohammed Siraj has also been included in the squad alongside Shardul Thakur. In the spin department, the KulCha duo (Kuldeep Yadav + Yuzvendra Chahal) have featured, apart from all-rounder Washington Sundar.
