The BCCI announced the schedule for the remainder of the 2021 IPL, which will be held in the UAE. Mumbai Indians will take on Chennai Super Kings on 19 September in Dubai to resume the proceedings.
Abu Dhabi will host the next match, between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore, while Sharjah will have their first game on 24 September when Bangalore square off against Chennai.
A total of 31 matches will be played in a 27-day window. Among these, 13 matches will be held in Dubai, 10 in Sharjah and the remaining eight in Abu Dhabi. There will be seven double headers in the UAE, with the first match beginning at 3.30 PM IST. All evening matches will begin at 7.30 PM IST irrespective of whether there are double headers.
The contest between Bangalore and Delhi Capitals will conclude the league stage, on 8 October. Qualifier 1 will be played a day after, in Dubai, and Sharjah will host the Eliminator and Qualifier 2, on 11 and 13 October respectively. The final will take place in Dubai, on 15 October.
The tournament was suspended in May due to a sudden spread of Coronavirus cases in the bubble.
