Melbourne Renegades defeated Brisbane Heat by five wickets at Simonds Stadium in Geelong to maintain the fifth position in the points table. They chased down 129 in just 15 overs, thanks to Shaun Marsh's 57.

Zahir Khan struck twice in his first two overs to reduce the Heat to 42/2, but a 52-ball 65 from Jake Lehmann took the Heat to 128/6. Zahir, Kane Richardson, and Mohammad Nabi picked two wickets apiece for the Renegades.

The Renegades lost Sam Harper to the third ball of the innings, but Aaron Finch and Marsh added 96 for the second wicket to ensure an easy victory. Finch got 37, while Marsh scored 57 off 35 deliveries.

Jason Sangha (34) and Matthew Gilkes (32) then chipped in with vital contributions to take the Thunder across the target. Andrew Tye took two wickets.
