Sydney Thunder beat Adelaide Strikers by 22 runs in Match 28 of the Big Bash League 2021/22 at the Adelaide Oval. They posted 187/3 after opting to bat, courtesy Jason Sangha’s unbeaten 55-ball 91 and restricted the Strikers to 165/7.
Ben Cutting made a 32-ball 37 and Oliver Davies a 12-ball 26 not out. Daniel Worrall, Peter Siddle and Fawad Ahmed took a wicket each, while Rashid Khan returned 0-23.
Matt Renshaw (38) and Jake Weatherald (31) added 68 in 45 balls for the second wicket to keep the Strikers in the hunt. Jonathan Wells played aggressively as well, scoring 26-ball 46, but could not find support later on, and they fell 22 short of the target. Daniel Sams did the most damage for the Thunder, with 4-33, while Saqib Mahmood claimed two wickets each.
