At the start of Day 4, Warwickshire needed just four wickets to lay hand on Bob Willis Trophy. There was some resistance from Luke Wood and Tom Bailey but it didn't last long, as Lancashire were skittled out for 241. And fittingly, the Bob Willis Trophy returned to a club where the great man himself played for over a decade.
Manraj Johal provided Warwickshire with the first breakthrough, as he getting uprooted the stumps of Wood (29). The next wicket fell in form of Rob Jones, who was trapped leg-before by Danny Briggs. The last two wickets fall within 10 runs as Warwickshire won by an innings and 199 runs.
A week ago, Warwickshire had won the County Championship by defeating the same opponent. The head coach Mark Robinson also achieved a rare feat of winning the championship with two different clubs – Sussex and Warwickshire. Liam Norwell was their leading wicket-taker, while Rob Yates was the most impressive batter.
Brief Scores: Lancashire 78 (Wood 46*; Miles 5-28) and 241 (Balderson 65; Briggs 3-58) lost to Warwickshire 518 (Rhodes 156; Parkinson 4-78) by an innings and 199 runs.
