The Super Smash in New Zealand saw a pretty rare occurrence on Sunday as Canterbury batsman Leo Carter slammed six sixes in an over against the Northern Knights. The New Zealand batsman became the seventh batsman to achieve the feat of hitting six sixes in an over on Sunday.

A 25-year-old left-handed lower order batsman, Carter belted part-time spinner Anton Devcich for six sixes at the Hagley Oval. Carter hit a stunning knock of 70 off just 29 balls to seal a seven-wicket win for Canterbury chasing a 220-run target. Canterbury won with an over to spare.

The other batsmen to hit six sixes in an over in the history of cricket are Gary Sobers, Ravi Shastri, Herschelle Gibbs, Yuvraj Singh, Hazratullah Zazai and Ross Whitley.

Carter does not have a huge reputation unlike the others in the list. He averages a meagre 17.27 in the format after this knock. In List A cricket, it further drops to 11.23. Devcich has played for New Zealand and is primarily a batsman. He bowls left-arm spin on a part-time basis.
