Roston Chase’s 50-ball 85 helped Saint Lucia Kings beat Guyana Amazon Warriors by 98 runs in Match 13 of the CPL 2021 in St Kitts.

With six fours and seven sixes, Chase almost single-handedly took Saint Lucia to 149/7 after they were put in. Romario Shepherd and Odean Smith claimed three wickets each, with an economy rate under six an over.

Guyana’s top five – Chandrapaul Hemraj, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Shimron Hetmyer, and Brandon King – all fell before reaching double digits. Nicholas Pooran (41 in 26 balls) and Smith (31* in 18) hit out valiantly, but all went in vain as they were bowled out for 98 in 16.5 overs.

Sheldon Cottrell’s breezy cameo (20* in 7 balls) powered St Kitts and Nevis Patriots reach the target on the final ball of the contest against Barbados Royals in Match 14 of the CPL 2021.

Chasing 161, St Kitts and Nevis needed four runs off the final ball. Cottrell launched a six off Ashley Nurse over long off to take them past the finishing line. Dominic Drakes also made 28 in 15 balls, while Chris Gayle got 42.

Earlier, Smit Patel had top-scored with a 48-ball 54 in Barbados’ 160/8 after being put in. Dwayne Bravo did the most damage for St Kitts and Nevis, with 4-26.
