Suryakumar Yadav will miss the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka after sustaining a hairline fracture during the last T20I against West Indies, on 20 February. He scored a brilliant half-century that night to be adjudged Player of the Match as well as Player of the Series.
India will also miss Deepak Chahar, who has picked up a hamstring injury. Chahar was unable to complete his second over in the same match vs West Indies.
The BCCI has not announced replacements for Yadav and Chahar yet. They have no dearth of options, for Chahar at least, with Jasprit Bumrah joining the side and Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, and Avesh Khan already in the squad.
India's T20I squad: Rohit Sharma (c), Jasprit Bumrah (vc), Sanju Samson (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan.
Meanwhile, Wanindu Hasaranga is yet to fully recover from the Covid-19 he contracted during the tour of Australia. He will miss the T20Is in India.
The first T20I will be played on 24 February in Lucknow, while Dharamsala will host the next two games.
