Sri Lanka suffered a huge blow ahead of the second test against India, as they will miss the services of Dushmantha Chameera and Pathum Nissanka.
Chameera also missed the first Test, and he has not yet fully recovered from an ankle injury. The team management wants to keep him fresh for the upcoming T20 World Cup, and henceforth he will only play white-ball games.
'The [Sri Lanka team] medical panel has told us that we have to manage his injury till the T20 World Cup, and that he should be used (only) for white-ball cricket,' Dimuth Karunaratne said.
Sri Lanka would surely miss the solidity Nissanka provided to their batting order. His 61 was one of the few bright spots for the visitors in the first Test, which they lost by an innings and 222 runs.
