Between December 26, 2022, and January 22, 2023, the Junior Super Kings inter-school T20 tournament will hold its seventh iteration.
At a ceremony at Super Kings Academy in Thoraipakkam, Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming unveiled the competition's jersey and trophy.
A total of 15 districts in Tamil Nadu—Chennai, Trichy, Villupuram, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Salem, Erode, Vellore, Ranipet, Madurai, Dindigul, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Tenkasi, and Kanyakumari—will host the 86-team Junior Super Kings 2022–23 competition.
"Junior Super Kings was initially introduced in Chennai, India, in 2012 as a 32-team tournament. It has since developed into a pan-Tamil Nadu event that discovers talent from all throughout the state. We are happy that the competition has returned following a two-year hiatus brought on by COVID. The Junior Super Kings are a crucial component of Chennai Super Kings' objectives to grow grassroots cricket in Tamil Nadu since we have always believed in giving back to the game.
"The competition has given players like Shahrukh Khan, Washington Sundar, and Sai Sudarshan, among others, platforms. The CEO of Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited, KS Viswanathan, predicted that several new stars would emerge this year.
Fleming said, "Junior Super Kings is a great opportunity for youngsters across Tamil Nadu. My message to the players is to dream big. Do well in the tournament and aim to be the next player to represent CSK! Play the tournament hard but as MS Dhoni always says, play it fair with a smile on your face. I wish you all the best."
