Chris Morris announced his retirement from all forms of cricket at 34. Morris declared his decision on Instagram: ‘Thanks to all who have played a part in my journey whether it be big or small...it's been a fun ride!’ He has accepted a coaching position with South African domestic side Titans.

Morris last played for South Africa in the 2019 ODI World Cup after Anrich Nortje was ruled out with an injury. He finished with most wickets for South Africa in that tournament. Having debuted in 2012, he played 42 ODIs (for 467 runs and 48 wickets), 23 T20Is (133 runs, 34 wickets) and four Test matches (173 runs, 12 wickets).

In the 2021 IPL auction, Morris became the most expensive buy in the history of the tournament when Rajasthan Royals signed him for INR 16.25 crores. He first played in IPL for Chennai Super Kings, in 2013, and went to Delhi Daredevils in 2016. Then in the 2020 auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for INR 10 crores.

'Tipo' Morris was mostly known as a fast-bowling all-rounder in T20 cricket. He played 234 T20 matches and claimed 290 wickets at 7.78 an over. His batting strike rate of 150 is impressive.
