Worcestershire v Warwickshire, New Road
Warwickshire 395 (Malan 141; Sodhi 6-89) lead Worcestershire 152/2 (Mitchell 83*; Norwell 1-22) by 243 runs.
At New Road, Worcestershire’s Daryl Mitchell reached 83 not out by stumps on Day 2 in reply to Warwickshire’s 395.
Before that, Will Rhodes (60) and Matt Lamb (44) helped Warwickshire pile 395 after they resumed at 245/4. In his 6-89, Ish Sodhi got most of his success against tailenders. Joe Baker (2-73) got two wickets, while Joe Leach (1-46) and Adam Finch (1-75) had one each.
Riding on Mitchell’s best score of the summer, Worcestershire responded well after that. He was ably assisted by Jack Haynes (42*) before the close of play.
Durham v Nottinghamshire, Chester-le-Street

Derbyshire vs Essex, Derby

Derbyshire's match against Essex at Derby has been abandoned due to a positive Covid-19 test in the Durham camp. The on-field umpires took the decision before the play began on Day 2, with Essex set to resume on 86/3 after Derbyshire’ 146.
