Lancashire v Yorkshire, Old Trafford
Yorkshire 159 (Duke 52; Bailey 3-6) trail Lancashire 350/6 (Jennings 114; Thompson 3-64) by 191 runs
Keaton Jennings’ first First-class century in over two years has left Yorkshire well-placed in the Battle of the Roses. They have accrued a hefty 191-run lead with Josh Bohannon well set on 47. Earlier in the day, Alex Davies failed to add anything to his overnight tally of 52.
Jennings added 175 runs with Luke Wells for the second wicket. Wells bid by time, and played over 200 balls for 60, comprising of eight fours. Jordan Thompson claimed three wickets and Ben Coad two, including that of Jennings.
Sussex v Northamptonshire, Hove
Sussex 175 (Carson 52; Sanderson 5-45) and 141/4 (Haines 67*; Kerrigan 2-29) lead Northamptonshire 256 (Zaib 64; Garton 4-69) by 61 runs
Gareth Berg and Ben Sanderson added 51 runs for the last wicket to stretch Northamptonshire’s first-innings lead to 81 before the latter was bowled by George Garton.
Sussex took a lead of 64 runs by the stumps on Day 2 but lost four wickets in the process. Tom Haines struck a gritty half-century and is still batting on 67, with the skipper Ben Brown at the other end.
For Northampton, Simon Kerrigan took a couple of wickets, and Berg and Sanderson returned with one each.
