Rain forced a delayed start on Day 2 of the contest between Kent and Sussex at Canterbury. Before that, Nathan Gilchrist withdrew from the game after being asked to self-isolate. Bailey Wightman replaced Gilchrist after the latter was contacted by NHS Test.
From 69/5, Kent struggled to reach 122/7 in reply to Sussex’s overnight 181, with Hamidullah Qadri (12*) and Bailey Wightman in middle. They still trail by 59 runs.
Yorkshire v Lancashire, Headingley
Lancashire 273/2 (Jennings 132; Thompson 2-52) vs Yorkshire
No play was possible due to persistent rain on Day 2 in the County Championship fixture between Yorkshire and Lancashire at Headingley.
Glamorgan v Northamptonshire, Cardiff
Northamptonshire 215/9 (Zaib 50; Salter 4-18) lead Glamorgan 52/2 (Labuschagne 17*; Procter 1-10) by 163 runs.
Glamorgan's match against Northamptonshire hangs in the balance after rain wiped out half of Day 2 at Cardiff. Andrew Salter took a career-best of 4-18 to restrict Northants to 215/9. Gareth Berg did not come to bat due to an injury, while Saif Zaib top-scored with 50.
In reply, Glamorgan reached 52/2 before the close of play. Marnus Labuschagne is still in the middle, on 17 not out.
