Lancashire v Yorkshire, Old Trafford
Yorkshire 159 (Duke 52; Bailey 3-6) and 85/2 (Lyth 39; Parkinson 1-11) trail Lancashire 509/9 decl. (Bohannon 127*, Jennings 114; Thompson 3-86) by 265 runs
Lancashire need eight wickets on the final day to beat Yorkshire at Old Trafford. Resuming at 350/6, Lancashire declared on 509/9. Coming at No. 4, Josh Bohannon top-scored with 127 not out. He added 150 for the seventh wicket with Danny Lamb (61). Jordan Thompson (3-86) was the pick of the Yorkshire bowlers, while Ben Coad got two wickets.
Trailing by 350, Adam Lyth (39) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore then added shared a 72-run opening stand before Matthew Parkinson (1-11) got Lyth. Kohler-Cadmore (32) was trapped lbw by Saqib Mahmood (1-25) in the penultimate over of the day. Yorkshire need another 265 to make Lancashire bat again.
Sussex v Northamptonshire, Hove
Sussex 175 (Carson 52; Sanderson 5-45) and 298 (Haines 103; Kerrigan 5-70) lead Northamptonshire 256 (Zaib 64; Garton 4-69) and 131/2 (Procter 47*; Atkins 1-25) by 86 runs
With six wickets in hand, Northamptonshire need 87 more runs on the final day to beat Sussex at Hove. Resuming Day 3 on 141/4, Tom Haines (103) and Ben Brown (95) guided Sussex reach 298. They added 111 for the fifth wicket before Simon Kerrigan, the left-arm spinner, dismissed Haines. Kerrian finished his figures of 5-70, while Tom Taylor claimed three scalps.
Chasin 218, Northants were left wobbling on 57/2. Luke Procter (47 not out) and Rob Keogh (24 not out) then added an unbeaten 74 to take Northants to 131/2 by stumps.
