An enthralling, eventful week for the County Championship passed by. A rare one too, for rain did not play spoilsport in any fixture. All seven matches yielded results. Lancashire thrashed Yorkshire; Sussex defeated Northamptonshire; Worcestershire and Warwickshire emerged victorious in their respective clashes; and Middlesex and Gloucestershire found themselves at the receiving end of the absolute domination of their opponents.
Most runs
David Bedingham did not have a fruitful outing in Durham’s defeat against Essex. He scored 10 and 32. However, with 666 runs at 66.60, he is still at the top of the runs chart. Derbyshire’s Matthew Critchley made an unbeaten 81 against Worcestershire and leapfrogged past Jake Libby to second place. Hashim Amla’s 173 against Gloucestershire has brought him to sixth place, followed by his teammates, Ollie Pope and Rory Burns.
