Division 1

Yorkshire v Warwickshire, Headingley

Warwickshire 155 (Burgess 66; Patterson 4-34) and 176 (Sibley 45; Thompson 5-52) lead Yorkshire 110 (Ballance 58; Norwell 4-27) and 50/3 (Ballance 21*; Woakes 1-11) by 173 runs.

No play was possible on Day 3 of the County Championship fixture between Yorkshire and Warwickshire at Headingley due to persistent rain. Yorkshire need another 173 runs on the final day to win this game.

Somerset v Lancashire, Taunton

Lancashire 373 (Wells 103; Brooks 4-77) & 32/0 defeat Somerset 90 (Azhar Ali 39; Blatherwick 4-28) and 314 (Lammonby 100; Wells 3-8) by 57 runs.

Resuming the day on 226/4, Somerset lost the next six wickets for 88 runs on Day 3 to finish the innings on 314. Luke Wells took three wickets, while Jack Blatherwick, George Balderson and Tom Bailey picked two wickets apiece.

Lancashire needed 32 runs to win. Balderson and Alex Davies mowed down the total in 6 overs to inflict a 10-wicket defeat on Somerset.

Hampshire v Nottinghamshire, Southampton

Hampshire 226 (Gubbins 54; Hutton 3-40) and 178 (Vince 52; Paterson-White 5-41) beat Nottinghamshire 155 (Slater 55; Barker 7-46) & 127 (Duckett 33; Dawson 5-45) by 122 runs.

Hampshire resumed the proceedings on Day 4 on 133/7. They added 45 runs before getting bowled out for 178. Liam Paterson-White claimed a five-for, and Dane Paterson took three wickets. James Vince’s 52 remained the highest score of the innings.

The target of 249 was too much for Nottinghamshire, as they got bowled out for just 127. They lost the match by 122 runs Liam Dawson picked five wickets, and Felix Organ claimed three to his name.

Division 2

Surrey v Essex, The Oval

Essex 439 (Cook 165; Taylor 2-44) lead Surrey 107/7 (Amla 58*; Porter 2-17) by 332 runs.

Not a single over could be bowled in the County Championship fixture between Surrey and Essex due to rain. Surrey have a mountain to climb, as they still trail by 322 runs.

Northamptonshire v Durham, Northampton

Northamptonshire 183 (Procter 76; Potts 4-42) and 10/0 (Vasconcelos 5*) trail Durham 400 (Potts 81; Sanderson 4-41) by 207 runs.

The rain played a spoilsport in at Northampton, as no play was possible between Northamptonshire and Durham. Durham trails Northamptonshire by 207 runs.

Glamorgan v Gloucestershire, Cardiff

Glamorgan 309 (Lloyd 73; Price 3-44) & 57/6 (Lloyd 17; Gohar 3-7) trail Gloucestershire 419 (Dent 75; Hogan 3-49) by 53 runs.

A spirited performance from tail-enders helped Gloucestershire accrue a substantial 110-run first-innings. Glamorgan ended up losing six wickets for just 57, and they still need another 53 runs to make Gloucestershire bat. Zafar Gohar picked three wickets.

Earlier, Gloucestershire were bowled out for 419 in the first innings. Tom Price scored 71 and David Payne chipped in with 34.

Division 3

Middlesex v Worcestershire, Lord’s

Middlesex 144 (Holden 52; Barnard 4-43) and 233/6 (Simpson 59*; Morris 3-43) lead Worcestershire 171 (Baker 61*; Murtagh 5-64) by 206 runs.

Day 3 of the County Championship clash between Middlesex and Worcestershire was washed out due to rain. Middlesex are in a strong position, as they lead by 206 runs. They will look to add some quick runs before putting Worcestershire to bat on Day 4.

Leicestershire v Sussex, Grace Road

Sussex 359/9 (Brown 133*; Wright 6-94) lead Leicestershire 291/2 (Azad 122*; Haines 1-7) by 68 runs.

No play on Day 3 of the County Championship fixture between Leicestershire and Sussex was possible due to heavy rain.

Derbyshire v Kent, Derby

Kent 285 (Leaning 82*; Aitchison 4-83) and 147/1 (Crawley 68; Dal 1-48) lead Derbyshire 156 (Conners 39; Stewart 5-23) by 276 runs.

The third match of Division 3, between Derbyshire and Kent, was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to persistent drizzle.
