Division 1

Nottinghamshire v Lancashire, Trent Bridge

Nottinghamshire 272 (Northeast 65; Bailey 4-48) and 339/8 (Moores 97, Bailey 3-84) lead Lancashire 168 (Bohannon 35; Hutton 5-62) and 115/1 (Wells 57*; Fletcher 1- 55) by 329 runs.

Lyndon James and Liam Patterson-White added 176 for the sixth wicket as Nottinghamshire declared the innings on 339/8. Moores was unlucky to miss out on his century by three runs, and James also got out on 91. Patterson-White made an unbeaten 37.

Chasing 444 to win, Lancashire lost opener Alex Davies in the first over, pinned lbw by Luke Fletcher. Luke Wells and George Balderson led a fightback, adding an unbroken 110 runs for the second wicket. Wells is batting on 57, and Balderson on 45.

Warwickshire v Hampshire, Edgbaston

Hampshire 89 (Holland 28; Rhodes 5-23) and 322 ( Barker 75; Norwell 4-72) lead Warwickshire 116 (Hain 41; Abbas 5-29) and 139/2 (Yates 57*; Dawson 2-25) by 157 runs.

Warwickshire walked into Day 3 on 139/2. They need another 157 to win. Robert Yates and Dominic Sibley gave them a solid start, adding 99 for the opening stand. Sibley got out on a well-made 47, and Yates is still batting on 57.

Resuming on 260/8, Hampshire added 62 in the early session to finish the innings on 322. Keith Barker made 75, while Bradley Wheal remained unbeaten on 46.

Division 2

Durham v Glamorgan, Chester-le-Street

Glamorgan 97 (Rutherford 43; Coughlin 4-11) and 333/7 (Douthwaite 96; Coughlin 3-45) trail Durham 503/8 decl. (Jones 81; Hogan 3-80) by 73 runs.

Durham are just three wickets away from a victory as Glamorgan finished Day 3 on 333/7, and they still trail by 73 runs. Resuming the proceedings on 71/2, they lost Edward Byrom early in the day. A few moments later, Hamish Rutherford (71) also walked back to the pavilion.

Chris Cooke’s dismissal reduced them to 151/6. Daniel Douthwaite and Andrew Salter then added 163 runs for the sixth wicket, and Glamorgan lived to fight another day in the contest. Douthwaite made 96, and Salter is still batting on 82.

Essex v Gloucestershire, Chelmsford

Gloucestershire 76 (Higgins 25; Porter 4-32) and 197 (Bracey 50; Harmer 4-78) lost to Essex 276 (Walter 96; Payne 3-71) by an innings and 3 runs.

Simon Harmer and Sam Cook shared seven wickets to drive Essex to an innings victory over Gloucestershire on Day 3. Gloucestershire were 132/5, trailing by 68, at the start of Day 3. Their last five batters could only add 65 runs as they were skittled out for 197.

Northamptonshire v Surrey, Northampton

Surrey 252 (Smith 123; Taylor 5-41) and 238 (Jacks 50; Kerrigan 4-36) lead Northamptonshire 171 (Zaib 37; Clarke 3-34) and 106/2 (Keogh 46; Clarke 1-11) by 214 runs.

Northamptonshire need another 215 to win at stumps on Day 3. Chasing 321, they lost Ricardo Vasconcelos and Harry Gouldstone early. But Emilio Gay (44) and Rob Keogh (46) steadied things, and they can aim for a victory on the final day.

Earlier, Surrey were wrapped up for 238, thanks to a four-wicket haul from Simon Kerrigan. Will Jacks scored 50, and Gus Atkinson remained unbeaten on 47.

Division 3

Derbyshire v Leicestershire, Derby

Leicestershire 528 (Hill 113; Aitchison 3-71) lead Derbyshire 313/8 (Guest 116; Parkinson 2-32) by 215 runs.

Centuries from Brooke Guest (116) and Anuj Dal (106) kept Derbyshire in the game after they resumed the day on 41/3. However, Derbyshire need another 65 to avoid the follow on.

Two quick wickets left them reeling at 56/5, but Guest and Dal took charge and added 27 runs for the sixth wicket to keep opponents at bay. They finished the day on 313/8.

Chris Wright, Will Davis, Ben Mike and Callum Parkinson picked two wickets each.

Kent v Worcestershire, Canterbury

Worcestershire 133 (Cox 41*; Gilchrist 5-38) and 204 (Leach 49*; Gilchrist 3-36) lost Kent 393 (Leaning 97; Pennington 4-80) by an innings and 56 runs.

Kent beat Gloucestershire by an innings and 56 runs at Canterbury. Resuming on 91/6, Gloucestershire survived a bit longer than expected. Ed Barnard got 44, while Joe Leach remained unbeaten on 49, but none of the efforts could keep them in the game.

Darren Stevens, Grant Stewart and Nathan Gilchrist picked three wickets each.

Sussex v Middlesex, Hove

Middlesex 676/5 decl. (Robson 253; Carson 2-183) vs Sussex 103/0 (Haines 73*)

Middlesex began Day 3 on 400/2, and added another 276 runs for loss of three wickets before declaring the innings on 676/5. Sam Robson finally got out on 253. Robbie White remained unbeaten on 110.

Sussex led a spirited reply, finishing the day on 103 without loss. Tom Haines did the bulk of the scoring. Haines is on 73, while Ali Orr is on 17.
