Division 1

Yorkshire v Warwickshire, Headingley

Warwickshire 155 (Burgess 66; Patterson 4-34) and 176 (Sibley 45; Thompson 5-52) defeat Yorkshire 108 (Ballance 58; Norwell 4-27) and 117 (Ballance 21; Woakes 3-26) by 106 runs.

Chris Woakes, Liam Norwell, and Craig Miles picked three wickets each to drive Warwickshire to a 106-run win over Yorkshire. There was a possibility of Yorkshire batting out the whole day to avoid a defeat, especially after the entirety of Day 3 was washed out. But the pace troika of Woakes, Norwell and Miles didn't let this happen.

Resuming the day on 50/3, Yorkshire could only add 67 runs as they got bowled out for 117. Barring Gary Ballance, who made 21, none of the batters crossed the 20-run mark.

Division 2

Surrey v Essex, The Oval

Essex 439 (Cook 165; Taylor 2-44) drawn with Surrey 161 (Amla 84*; Porter 3-27) & 113/2 (Amla 34*; Snater 1-19).

Hashim Amla and Ollie Pope showed great restraint to salvage a draw for Surrey. Amla scored 84 in the first dig, and followed it with an unbeaten 34 in the second innings. Pope remained unbeaten on 27 as Surrey finished the day on 113/2 after being enforced to follow-on.

Earlier, Surrey were bowled out for 161 in the first innings. Simon Harmer and James Porter claimed three wickets each. An abandonment of play on Day 3 helped Surrey to sneak out a draw.

Northamptonshire v Durham, Northampton

Northamptonshire 183 (Procter 76; Potts 4-42) and 231/9 (Sales 53; Potts 4-68) drawn with Durham 400 (Potts 81; Sanderson 4-41)

Simon Kerrigan and James Sales put up an extraordinary show of defiance, batting over 40 overs by themselves, to Keep Durham at bay after they started the day with a deficit of 207 runs.

Northamptonshire were at 231/9 when the play was called off. Sales scored 53 off 120 balls, while Kerrigan played 135 balls for his 28. Matty Potts claimed eight wickets for Durham in the match.

Glamorgan v Gloucestershire, Cardiff

Glamorgan 309 (Lloyd 73; Price 3-44) & 124 (Lloyd 17; Gohar 6-43) lost to Gloucestershire 419 (Dent 75; Hogan 3-49) & 15/0 (Dent 11*) by 10 wickets.

Gloucestershire needed only 15 runs to win and they achieved so in just 1.3 overs to inflict a ten-wicket defeat over Glamorgan. Earlier, Zahar Gohar ran through Glamorgan, picking up six wickets, to stumble them for 124.

Division 3

Middlesex v Worcestershire, Lord’s

Middlesex 144 (Holden 52; Barnard 4-43) and 233/6 (Simpson 59*; Morris 3-43) lead Worcestershire 171 (Baker 61*; Murtagh 5-64) by 206 runs.

Ethan Bamber and Martin Andersson shared seven wickets to skittle Worcestershire out 119 in the second innings. Middlesex won the game by 101 runs.

Chasing a target of 221, Worcestershire lost four wickets for just 51 runs. Ed Barnard showed some resistance, scoring 28 before falling to Andersson. Gareth Roderick remained unbeaten on 42.

Earlier, Charlie Morris picked six wickets to bowl out Middlesex for 247. John Simpson top-scored with 59.

Leicestershire v Sussex, Grace Road

Sussex 359/9 (Brown 133*; Wright 6-94) & 128 ( Orr 34; Parkinson 4-18) lost to Leicestershire 492/4 (Azad 152; Crocombe 2-70) by an innings and five runs.

Resuming the proceedings on 291/2, Leicestershire put up a scintillating display with both and bat to register an innings and five runs victory over Sussex. Hasan Azad got out on 152, but Lewis Hill notched a brilliant century, scoring 145 off just 167 deliveries before being dismissed. Louis Kimber (59) and Harry Swindells (69) piled up the opponent's misery with quickfire knocks.

They declared on a total of 492/4, having accrued a slender lead of 133. Ben Mike (4-34) and Callum Parkinson (4-18) then triggered an epic collapse to reduce Sussex from 83/2 to 128/10, and they ended up losing the match.

Derbyshire v Kent, Derby

Kent 285 (Leaning 82*; Aitchison 4-83) and 211/2 (Cox 68; Dal 1-48) beat Derbyshire 156 (Conners 39; Stewart 5-23) & 210 (Dal 58*; Gilchrist 4-30) by 130 runs

At the start of the play on Day 4, Kent's lead read 276 runs. They were at 147/1. Jordan Cox scored 81, and Daniel Bell-Drummond also notched an unbeaten 51, before Kent declared the innings on 211/2, setting a target of 341 for Derbyshire.

Derbyshire, however, were skittled out for 210. Anuj Dal’s unbeaten 58 was overpowered by a four-for from Nathan Gilchrist. They lost the match by 130 runs.
