Tripura launches India's 'first ever' bamboo cricket bat
Bamboo and Cane Development Institute of Tripura along with North East Centre of Technology Application and Reach claim to have developed India’s first ever bamboo-made cricket bat by maintaining all the standard protocols. The bat was designed in Tripura's Bamboo and Cane Development Institute using locally available materials.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb lauded BCDI and NECTAR for the unique design of the bats and wickets.
