Cummins ruled out of IPL 2022

Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the rest of the of IPL 2022 with a mild hip injury. He has returned home for a two-week rest. His team, Kolkata Knight Riders, added that they have not sought a replacement for Cummins ahead of their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday at the MCA Stadium in Pune.

'Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League with a mild hip injury and has returned to Australia for two weeks of rest and rehabilitation. Following the match against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday, Cummins, who bagged 3/22 from his four overs, underwent an MRI on his right hip,' ran their official statement.

Shaw unlikely to feature in rest of IPL 2022

Delhi Capital's assistant coach Shane Watson has hinted that Prithvi Shaw is unlikely to feature in their remaining matches of the season. This includes league matches against Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, and, if they qualify, the Playoffs. Shaw, who has been admitted to hospital, has not featured in Delhi's last three league matches. 

"It's not looking great for him to be available for the last couple of games, which is a big shame because he is an incredibly skilful young batter taking the best bowlers in the world down a lot of the time," said Watson in an episode of the Grade Cricketer.

Neesham dropped from New Zealand central contracts

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has overlooked Jimmy Neesham from the list of 20 players that won central contracts for 2022/23. They have included Ajaz Patel and have given a maiden contract to Michael Bracewell.

Punjab crush Bangalore by 54 runs

Punjab Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 54 runs in Match 60 of the Indian Premier League 2022.

For Punjab, Liam Livingstone scored 70 and Jonny Bairstow 66 as Punjab racked up 209/9. In reply, Bangalore could only manage 155/9. Barring Glenn Maxwell, none of their batters scored more than 30. For Punjab, Kagiso Rabada claimed three wickets, while Rishi Dhawan and Rahul Chahar claimed two apiece.
