Barbados to represent West Indies at 2022 Commonwealth Games
Barbados will participate as the ‘representative team from the West Indies’ in the 2022 Commonwealth Games at Birmingham. Cricket West Indies decided this after postponing the 2021 T20 Blaze and Women's Super50 Cup until next year.
That paved the way for Barbados, the defending T20 Blaze champions, to take part in the Games. Women’s cricket will be played at the Commonwealth Games for the first time.

IPL can prepare Australia for T20 World Cup: Ponting
Ricky Ponting believes the UAE leg of the IPL will be ideal preparation for the Australian players ahead of the T20 World Cup in October. Ponting also urged them to feature in the remainder of the tournament.
‘Those guys that haven’t played for three or four months now, they need to get back into the groove of playing high-quality cricket against the best players in the world,’ Ponting said during a conversation with Tim Paine on SEN radio. ‘No doubt it’s (IPL) their best preparation to be in those exact conditions, playing in probably the strongest domestic T20 tournament in the world.’
During the IPL, Ponting will be on his UAE duty as head coach of the Delhi Capitals.
