Rahane ruled out of IPL 2022
Ajinkya Rahane has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with a Grade Three hamstring injury. Rahane sustained the injury while batting for Kolkata against Sunrisers Hyderabad at MCA Stadium in Pune on 14 May.
'Rahane is set to exit the Kolkata Knight Riders bubble on Monday evening. Sources within the Board of Control for Cricket in India said he will be reporting at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore where he may need more than four weeks of rehab,' reported Cricbuzz.
Mumbai replace Suryakumar with Akash Madhwal
Mumbai Indians (MI) signed Akash Madhwal of Uttarakhand as a replacement for Suryakumar Yadav for the rest of the IPL 2022. Suryakumar was earlier ruled out of the remainder of the tournament for Mumbai due to a left forearm muscle injury sustained in the match against Gujarat Titans.
'Akash Madhwal, has been with the Mumbai Indians as part of the support team and has now signed on to join the squad for the 2022 season. Akash Madhwal is a right arm medium fast bowler and has represented Cricket Association of Uttarakhand across all three formats of the game since making his debut in 2019,' said an official statement from the franchise.
Saqib Mahmood to miss remainder of season
Saqib Mahmood has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a lumbar stress fracture, said the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Mahmood made his England Test debut against West Indies in March after being named Player of the Series in the ODIs against Pakistan last year.
'Mahmood was unavailable for Lancashire's last Championship fixture due to low back pain, and scans have revealed that he has a lumbar stress fracture and will miss the remainder of the 2022 English summer. No timeframe has been set for his return. His ongoing rehabilitation will be co-managed between Lancashire and England medical teams,' said the ECB.

Bangladesh ended Day 2 on 76/0 after bowling out Sri Lanka on 397. Tamim Iqbal (31*) and Mahmudul Hasan Joy (35*) are at the crease.
Earlier, Angelo Mathews made 199 for Sri Lanka, and Dinesh Chandimal 66. Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal carried the momentum forward for Sri Lanka, batting for the major part of the first session on Day 2. Nayeem Hasan claimed six wickets and Shakib Al Hasan three.
