Ellyse Perry likely to play in final
Ellyse Perry is recovering well from the injury and is likely to play as a specialist batter in the Women's World Cup 2022 final against England. Perry has not bowled in the training sessions after enduring an injury during the match against South Africa.
'We feel like we'll have a full squad to pick from,' said Australian captain Meg Lanning. 'Ellyse got through a pretty hard and high intensity session yesterday and she's trained again today and is feeling pretty good.'
Afghanistan appoint Younis Khan as batting consultant
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) appointed Younis Khan as batting consultant and Umar Gul as bowling consultant for the senior men's side. The ACB had earlier confirmed Graham Thorpe as the head coach.
'Younis Khan and Umar Gul have rich experience of international cricket and I am sure they will help our boys overcome the concerns they have got in the batting and bowling departments,' said ACB CEO Naseeb Khan.
Rajasthan beat Mumbai by 23 runs
A dazzling hundred from Jos Buttler helped Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai Indians by 23 runs. Despite fifties from Ishan Kishan and Tilak Verma, Mumbai could only manage 170/8 while chasing 194 as Navdeep Saini and Yuzvendra Chahal claimed two wickets each. Kishan made 54, while Verma slammed 61 off just 33 balls.
Earlier, Jos Buttler scored 100 in 68 balls, while Shimron Hetmyer blasted 35 to take Rajasthan to 193.
Gujarat beat Delhi by 14 runs
Gujarat Titans registered their second successive win in IPL 2022. They beat Delhi Capitals by 14 runs. A 46-ball 84 from Shubman Gill propelled Gujarat to 171/6 in 20 overs.
In response, Delhi Capitals lost both openers inside five overs. Rishabh Pant top-scored with 43 and Lalit Yadav made 25, but the rest could not do much. Lockie Ferguson finished with four wickets for Gujarat.
