Green light to Women's PSL

Pakistan Cricket Board chair Rameez Raja has given his approval for a Women's Pakistan Super League, set to commence next year. This was confirmed by Tania Malik, women's cricket head at the PCB, in a press conference at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Malik also lauded Pakistan Women for winning both warm-up matches, against Bangladesh and New Zealand, ahead of the World Cup.

Deepak Chahar to miss most of IPL 2022

Deepak Chahar, the most expensive acquisition of Chennai Super Kings in the mega auction at INR 14 crores, will miss a significant part of Indian Premier League 2022 due to a quadriceps tear. Chahar sustained an injury during the third T20I against West Indies, and is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Chennai Super Kings will now have to play one of Tushar Deshpande or K.M. Asif, with Adam Milne being the main fast bowler.

Lancashire sign Hasan Ali

Lancashire has signed Hasan Ali for the forthcoming season of the County Championship. Hasan will be the second overseas player of the club, along with captain Dane Vilas, and will play six games before joining his national side.

'I am very excited at the prospect of playing county cricket in England for the first time in my career,' said Hasan. 'Emirates Old Trafford is a stadium which holds special memories for me, after making my T20 International debut against England there in 2016.'

Pakistan-Australia Test series named as Benaud-Qadir Trophy

Australia's first Test series in Pakistan in over two decades will be played for the Benaud-Qadir Trophy. Richie Benaud and Abdul Qadir were outstanding leg-spinners. Benaud was also a successful captain and commentator, while Qadir served in various roles for Pakistan cricket.

'We believe that having a perpetual trophy for this and future series between Pakistan and Australia and having the names of Richie and Abdul illustrates the desire of both governing bodies to grow the stature of these series moving forward,' Nick Hockley, the CEO of Cricket Australia, said in a statement.
