Northants sign Lynn for T20 Blast
Northamptonshire have secured the services of Chris Lynn for the upcoming season of the T20 Blast. He is their second overseas player for the season, along with Jimmy Neesham.
'I have always wanted to play county cricket and I'm really looking forward to joining up with Northamptonshire for the Vitality Blast,' said Lynn. 'The UK is a great place to play and I am hopeful that I can contribute with some good performances and also try to entertain the Steelback fans this summer.'
Du Preez left out of CSA contracts list
Mignon du Preez was the most surprising omission as Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced a list of 15 players to get a central contract for the 2022-23 season. Du Preez has recently retired from Tests and ODIs. Tazmin Brits and Nonkululeko Mlaba are included in the list.
Women's contracts: Tazmin Brits, Trisha Chetty, Lara Goodall, Shabnim Ismail, Sinalo Jafta, Marizanne Kapp, Ayabonga Khaka, Masabata Klaas, Lizelle Lee, Suné Luus, Nonkululeko Mlaba, Tumi Sekhukhune, Chloé Tryon, Dane van Niekerk, Laura Wolvaardt.
Moody provides update on Sundar's injury
During his comeback game against Gujarat Titans, Washington Sundar injured himself – again – while fielding in the deep. Sundar had earlier missed a few matches of the league due to a split webbing.
'It's very unfortunate that he had a knock on the same hand where he split his webbing. It had healed completely but he re-injured that area, it's not injured to the point that he needs it re-stitched,' said Moody.
Kolkata beat Rajasthan by 7 wickets
Kolkata Knight Riders beat Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in Match 47 of Indian Premier League 2022. They chased down 153 with five balls remaining, thanks to an unbroken 66-run stand between Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana. Rinku scored 42 off just 23 balls, while Rana made an unbeaten 48.
Earlier, for Rajasthan, Sanju Samson scored 54 in 49 balls, and Shimron Hetmyer made a quick unbeaten 27.
