Railways cruise past Karnataka, win Women's Senior One-Day Trophy
Railways thrashed Karnataka by eight wickets in the final of the 2021 Women's Senior One-Day Trophy at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on 20 November. It was Railways’ 13th title of the last 15 editions of the tournament.
After being put in, Karnataka were bowled out for 74 in 38 overs, with Niki Prasad top-scoring with 21. Renuka Singh was the pick of the Railways bowler, with 4-14, while Sneh Rana returned figures of 7-3-10-2. S. Meghana then scored 43-ball 36 to help Railways reach the target in 22.2 overs.
Pakistan beat Bangladesh again, take unassailable 2-0 lead
Pakistan hammered Bangladesh by eight wickets in the second T20I to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series in Mirpur. They restricted Bangladesh to 108/7, and chased the target with 11 balls to spare.
Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shadab Khan claimed two wickets apiece, while Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr and Haris Rauf took a wicket each. Mohammad Rizwan (39) and Fakhar Zaman (57*) then added 85 for the second wicket to get the job done in the penultimate over.
Sean Whitehead takes all 10 wickets in an innings
Sean Whitehead picked up all 10 wickets in a First-class innings. Playing for South Western Districts in Division 2 of the four-Day Franchise Series, Whitehead returned 10-36 in the second innings to bowl Easterns out for 65 in a chase of 186. He also took 5-64 in the first innings and, with bat, scored 66 and 45.
It was the second-best figures in the history of South African domestic cricket. Bert Vogler, who returned 10-26 for Eastern Province against Griqualand West back in December 1906, is still at the top of this chart.
Tamil Nadu, Karnataka reach SMAT 2021 final
Tamil Nadu and Karnataka reached the final of the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. While Tamil Nadu had an easy eight-wicket win against Hyderabad in the first semi-final to make the cut, Karnataka clinched a hard-fought four-run win to book a place in the summit clash.
By returning 5-21, Tamil Nadu’s P. Saravana Kumar was the star of the semi-finals. Rohan Kadam, too, impressed for Karnataka, scoring 56-ball 87.
