More than 25% crowd capacity allowed for IPL 2022

The four venues across Maharashtra, set to host the league stage of the Indian Premier League 2022, will have just crowds up to one-fourth of the capacity of the respective stadia. Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai will be able to accommodate around 7,000 fans, while the other three will hold around 10,000 each.

'That is our understanding. Going forward the stadiums will have more fans than initial games. With Covid cases coming down by the day, we are hoping more people will be in the stands,' said a BCCI source to Cricbuzz.

BCB reject NOC to Taskin for IPL 2022

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has refused to hand a No-Objection Certificate to Taskin Ahmed for the Indian Premier League 2022. As per Cricbuzz, Lucknow Super Giants had approached the BCB for permission when they wanted to sign Taskin as a replacement for Mark Wood.

'Since we have two important series like the ongoing home tour of South Africa and the home series against Sri Lanka, we feel it won't be right for him to take part in the IPL,' BCB cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus said.
