IPL Playoffs to be played in Kolkata and Ahmedabad
The playoffs for the Indian Premier League 2022 will be played in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, as confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the Eliminator and Qualifier 1, on 24 May and 26 May, while Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the remaining two games.
The three-team, four-match Women's T20 Challenge will be held in Lucknow. The 2021 edition was not held.
South Africa to tour India for five T20Is
The Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) has confirmed the itinerary for the upcoming five-match T20Is series against South Africa, beginning on 9 June in Delhi.
Cuttack, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot and Bengaluru will host the next four T20Is, a dress rehearsal for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.
Pant fined 100% of the match fee
Rishabh Pant has been fined 100% of his match fee, while Shardul Thakur was penalised 50% of his match, for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the game between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals. Delhi Capitals' assistant coach Pravin Amre was handed a one-match ban for storming into the field during the game.
Abid Ali set to return after angioplasty
Abid Ali is all set to return to action after missing four months due to Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS). He was diagnosed with ACS after complaining of chest pain while batting in domestic cricket. He recently played in a local T20 tournament in Faisalabad.
'I am really excited to be back with the prospect of playing for Pakistan again,' Abid told ESPNcricinfo. 'Doctors cleared me to go back in the field and I can finally return to live a normal life.'
