India fined for slow over rate
India have been fined 40% of their match fee for slow over rate in the third and final ODI against South Africa. This was the second instance India were punished for maintaining a slow over-rate on this tour.
'Andy Pycroft of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after KL Rahul’s side was ruled to be two overs short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration,' said the ICC official statement.
Taylor to face multi-year ban
Brendan Taylor will face a multi-year ban for not reporting corrupt approach made by Indian businessmen to the ICC in time. Taylor was offered a hefty sum for a spot-fixing in an international match, but he did not go ahead with the arrangement.
'I would like to place on record that I have never been involved in any form of match-fixing. I may be many things, but I am not a cheat. My love for the beautiful game of cricket far outweighs and surpasses any threats which could be thrown my way,' he said.
ICC name Mandhana Women's Cricketer of the Year
Smriti Mandhana was chosen as Women's Cricketer of the Year for 2021, while Lizelle Lee was adjudged as Women's ODI Cricketer of the year. Tammy Beaumont was named Women's T20I Cricketer, while Mohammad Rizwan won this award in the Men's category.

Pakistan announce 15-member squad for ODI World Cup
Bismah Maroof returned to the side after a two-year maternity break as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a 15-member squad for ICC Women's ODI World Cup. Maroof will lead the side. Kainat Imtiaz and Sadia Iqbal failed to make a cut, while Ghulam Fatima got a call-up after four years.
Pakistan squad: Bismah Maroof (c), Nida Dar (vc), Aiman Anwar, Aliya Riaz, Anam Amin, Diana Baig, Fatima Sana, Ghulam Fatima, Javeria Khan, Muneeba Ali, Nahida Khan, Nashra Sandhu, Omaima Sohail, Sidra Amin, Sidra Nawaz.

Aftab Baloch dies aged 68
Aftab Baloch passed away at 68 in Karachi. He played two Test matches, the first of which came at 16. However, he had to wait for six years for his other Test match.
Baloch is remembered for his 428 in the First-class match in 1973/74 while captaining Balochistan. He remains one of eight men to have scored a First-class quadruple hundred.
