Rod Marsh admitted to hospital after heart attack

Australian legend Rod Marsh suffered a serious cardiac arrest while attending a charity event in Queensland. He was rushed to the hospital by the organisers of the event, John Glanville and David Hillier.

'We are very concerned to hear the news about Rod and send him all our best wishes. Our thoughts are with him, his wife Ros and their family and many friends at this difficult time. Rod is one of the most iconic and popular figures in the game and we thank and acknowledge those who are looking after him,' said Cricket Australia chief executive Nick Hockley. 

IPL 2022 to begin from 26 March

The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League will begin on 26 March. Mumbai and Pune will host all 70 league matches, while venues for the playoffs and final are yet to be decided by the BCCI. The final will be played on 29 May. 

'The IPL will kick off on March 26, the full schedule will come soon. We will also have crowds but as per the policy of the Maharashtra government. Whether it will be 25 or 50 per cent of the stadium capacity will be decided by the government instruction,' Brijesh Patel told Cricbuzz.

India beat Sri Lanka by 62 runs

India beat Sri Lanka by 62 runs in the first ODI of the three-match series in Lucknow. Ishan Kishan slammed 89 in 56 balls, and Shreyas Iyer made 57 off 28, as India set a daunting 190/2.

In reply, Sri Lanka could only manage 137/6. Charith Asalanka top-scored with 53, while for India, Venkatesh Iyer and Bhuvneshwar Kumar claimed two wickets each.

UAE beat Ireland by seven wickets

The United Arab Emirates beat Ireland by seven wickets in the final of the  ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier A 2022.

A 66-ball 112 from Muhammad Waseem helped the UAE chase 160 in 18.4 overs. Waseem's knock comprised eight sixes and seven fours. Rohan Mustafa chipped in with 37. Earlier, Harry Tector's 50 helped Ireland reach 159.
