Afghanistan complete sweep against Netherlands
Afghanistan completed a 3-0 sweep against the Netherlands with a 75-run win in the third ODI at West End Park International Cricket Stadium, Doha. They posted 254/5 after opting to bat and knocked over the Netherlands for 179 in 42.4 overs.
Najibullah Zadran was adjudged Player of the Match for hitting 59-ball 71. He got support from Riaz Hassan (50) and Rahmat Shah (48). Colin Ackermann (81) and Scott Edwards (54) then put on a 103-run stand for the opening wicket to keep the Netherlands in hunt, but the others made little impact to register a consolation win. Qais Ahmad returned 3-32 and Rashid Khan 2-37.
Australia replace Vlaeminck with Campbell
Australia added Stella Campbell to their squad for the Ashes Test match, starting 27 January in Canberra. Campbell replaced the injured Tayla Vlaeminck, who was ruled out of the series as well as the forthcoming World Cup in New Zealand with a stress fracture to her foot.
Campbell, who received her maiden international cap against India last year, returned 7-25 at the Manuka Oval in Canberra in a Women's National Cricket League match earlier this month.
Sune Luus to lead South Africa
Sune Luus will lead the 18-member South Africa squad that will host West Indies for a four-match ODI series, starting 28 January at the Wanderers, Johannesburg. Luus will lead in the absence of two of South Africa’s senior players, Dane van Niekerk and Lizelle Lee.
Van Niekerk will miss the series as well as the World Cup due to an ankle injury, while Lee is in isolation after testing positive for Covid-19. Chloe Tryon will be Luus’ deputy.

Australia pick McDermott, Head for Sri Lanka T20Is
Australia recalled Ben McDermott, the BBL Player of the Tournament, Travis Head, Moises Henriques and Jhye Richardson for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, starting 11 February at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Josh Hazlewood, who missed most of the recent Ashes due to a side injury, has been picked as well.
However, Mitchell March and David Warner, two key members of Australia's T20 World Cup winning squad last year, will miss the series to prepare for the Pakistan tour. Head coach Justin Langer and a number of other support staff have also taken leave. Andrew McDonald will act as head coach in Langer’s absence.
