India announce ODI, T20I squads

The BCCI has announced 18-member squads for the ODI and T20I series versus West Indies. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have been rested, while Ravindra Jadeja has not yet recovered from his knee injury.

Rohit Sharma is all set to lead India in both formats. K.L. Rahul, his deputy, will miss the first ODI but will be available for the rest of the series. 

Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, and Washington Sundar have also been named in both squads. The first ODI of the three-match series will begin on 6 February.

Australia announce World Cup squad

Cricket Australia (CA) has named their 15-member squad for the 2022 World Cup. The injured Sophie Molineux and Tayla Vlaeminck have been replaced by Amanda-Jade Wellington and Alana King. Hannah Darlington and Georgia Redmayne are named as the travelling reserves.

Dilruwan Perera retires from international cricket

Dilruwan Perera has announced retirement from all forms of international cricket. However, he will continue to play domestic cricket. 

Perera featured in 43 Tests, 13 ODIs and 5 T20Is for Sri Lanka. He claimed 161 wickets and struck eight half-centuries in his Test career, while his 13 ODI wickets have come at 31.46 apiece.

Sri Lanka appoints Malinga as bowling strategy coach

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed Lasith Malinga as their bowling strategy coach for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia. The first T20I will be played on 11 February. Malinga will work under interim coach Rumesh Ratnayake.

'Malinga, in his new short-term role as a specialist coach, will support Sri Lanka's bowlers, providing tactical insight and technical expertise to help the on-field execution of strategic plans,' Sri Lanka Cricket said in a release.

South Africa announce Test squad for New Zealand tour

Simon Harmer returned to the Test team after nearly seven years as South Africa announced a 17-member squad for their Test series in New Zealand. The first Test of the two-match series will begin on 17 February.
