West Indies to tour Pakistan in June
West Indies will tour Pakistan for three ODIs tin June, as confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The series, to be played in Rawalpindi on June 8, 10 and 12, will be a part of the ICC World Cup Super League.
The ODI series, earlier scheduled in December 2021, had to be postponed due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases. The board also announced that West Indies will tour again next year for three T20Is.
Mitchell Marsh ruled out of opening ODI
Mitchell Marsh will not be available for Australia's opening ODI versus Pakistan after suffering a hip flexor. Cricket Australia (CA) has named Cam Green as a replacement. They will also miss the service of Josh Inglis who has tested positive for Covid-19.
'He's injured his hip-flexor, we think, at training. We are going to have to wait and see what that looks like but I don't think he'll be available for the series based on how he was feeling yesterday,' Aaron Finch stated.
Perry likely to miss semi-final clash versus West Indies
Ellyse Perry is doubtful for the Women's World Cup semi-final against West Indies, to be played on 30 March. She suffered back spasms during a game against South Africa a few days ago.
'My back's going pretty well,' said Perry. 'Obviously, a couple of days still before the match, so I think we'll still just keep playing that by ear, but [by] bearing in mind that we'll probably need to make a decision in the next day or so.'
Gujarat Titans beat Lucknow Super Giants by five wickets
Fifties from Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni went in vain as Gujarat Titans chased 159 with five wickets and two balls to spare. Rahul Tewatia (40* off 24) held his nerves and scored a winning boundary, while Abhinav Manohar also impressed with three fours for his 7-ball 15.
Earlier, a three-wicket haul from Mohammed Shami in his opening spells reduced Lucknow to 29/4, but Hooda and Badoni led the recovery with their 87-run stand.
