Miraz pulls out of BPL
Mehidy Hasan Miraz has decided to return home during the ongoing 2022 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League. Miraz plays for the Chattogram Challengers, and is unlikely to return for the rest of the season.
'I am leaving for Dhaka today (January 30) maintaining all the protocols. I have informed the BCB CEO and my team that I want to return to Dhaka in the evening as my mother is sick,' he said.
Ashes Test ends in tense draw
England managed to save the Ashes Test match at Manuka Oval in Canberra, with nine wickets down. Set 257 in 48 overs, England decided to go for it, and Nat Sciver (58), Heather Knight (48), and Sophia Dunkley (45) kept them in the hunt.
In the end they they finished on 245/9 after Sophie Ecclestone and Kate Cross, the last pair, survived 13 balls.
West Indies announce squad for T20I series in India
Cricket West Indies (CWI) named a 16-member squad for the upcoming T20I series versus India. Shimron Hetmyer was left out on fitness grounds. There was no place for Evin Lewis either, as Brandon King, Kyle Mayers, and Shai Hope were chosen as openers.

United beat Zalmi by nine wickets
At the PSL, Islamabad United beat Peshawar Zalmi by nine wickets at the National Stadium in Karachi. The United chased down 169 in 15.5 overs, thanks to a 112-run opening stand between Paul Stirling (57) and Alex Hales (82*). Earlier, the Zalmi rode on a 46-ball 70 from Sherfane Rutherford to post 168/6 in 20 overs.
