New Zealand to tour Pakistan after 18 years
New Zealand will tour Pakistan in September for the first time since 2003. They will play three ODIs and five T20Is from 17 September to 3 October. All three ODIs will be played in Rawalpindi, while the T20Is will take place in Lahore.
In recent years, Pakistan has hosted England, Australia and New Zealand on neutral territory, in the UAE. The PCB believes the New Zealand series ‘will reinforce Pakistan's status as a safe and secure country’ from now on.
New Zealand will play five T20Is in Bangladesh in early September before travelling to Pakistan.
CSK to reach the UAE on 13 August, PBKS on 29 August
Chennai Super Kings will leave for the UAE on 13 August for the remainder of the IPL. They will be the first of the eight franchises to reach the UAE, while Punjab Kings will set up camp on 29 August.
Chennai CEO Kasi Viswanathan and Punjab CEO Satish Menon have confirmed their departure dates to InsideSport.
The six other franchises are also planning to set up camps in the UAE early but a majority of their players are playing for their respective national sides at this moment.
Maddinson, Ferling move from Stars to Renegades at Melbourne
Melbourne Renegades have signed Nic Maddinson and Holly Ferling from Melbourne Stars for the BBL and WBBL respectively. Both Maddinson and Ferling spent three seasons with the Stars before making their moves.
While Maddison has signed a three-year contract, Ferling has penned with them just for the upcoming WBBL campaign.
The Women’s edition will begin on 14 October, and the Men’s edition on 5 December.
BCB in talks with Oman Cricket Board for early World Cup camp
As per a report of Cricbuzz, the BCB are planning to go to Oman earlier than schedule in order to prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup. They are in talks with Oman Cricket Board right now, and the final dates will be announced soon.
Bangladesh will play in Oman for Round 1 matches of the tournament alongside seven other teams, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Namibia, Oman, Papua New Guinea. They have been split across two groups, with the top two from each group will qualify for the Super 12s to join the top eight-ranked T20I sides.
