Zimbabwe to go ahead with Ireland tour
Zimbabwe have got a nod from the UK government to tour Ireland for three ODIs and five T20Is. The tour was earlier postponed due to a Coronavirus outbreak, as an outcome of which Zimbabwe was placed in the red list by the UK.
Belfast will not host any match as per the new itinerary. All matches will take place in Clontarf and Bready. The first T20I commences on 27 August, while the ODI series will begin from 8 September.
Last month, Zimbabwe lost an ODI series to Bangladesh 0-3. Placed at bottom of the World Super League points table, they are slated to tour Scotland for three T20Is, starting 15 September.
Bangladesh appoint Prince as batting coach
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced Ashwell Prince as their batting coach for the Men’s senior team. Prince has been handed a contract until the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
Prince will be succeeding Jon Lewis, whose contract was not extended by the board. His first assignment will be a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, beginning on 1 September.
Prince featured in 66 Tests and 52 ODIs for South Africa until his retirement in 2011. He will be working under head coach Russell Domingo and alongside bowling coach Ottis Gibson.
De Kock, Miller set to miss ODI series versus Sri Lanka
South Africa will miss the services of Quinton de Kock, Lungi Ngidi and David Miller for their ODI series against Sri Lanka. The three-match ODI series will be played at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, from 2 September.
Ngidi is out due to personal reasons, while Miller has picked up a hamstring injury. De Kock has been rested, as South Africa do not want him to play other formats before the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
However, these players will be taking part in the T20I series 10 September.

Rahul’s ton gives India an upper edge on Day 1
K.L. Rahul remained unbeaten on 127 as India finished Day 1 at Lord’s on 276/3 after England asked them to bat. Rahul and Rohit Sharma provided a solid start, adding 126 for the opening wicket. Rohit (83) was unlucky to miss out on a century after surviving challenging conditions in the beginning.
James Anderson and Ollie Robinson were brilliant in the morning, giving absolutely nothing away to the Indian openers. But Sam Curran could not sustain the pressure, conceding four fours in one of his overs.
Anderson finally provided the hosts with a breakthrough with a terrific in-swinger that beat Rohit’s bat and crashed into the stumps. Pujara’s woeful run continued, as fell for 9. Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul saw off things after Virat Kohli got out at the fag end of the day.
